Viz enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, sitting on her deck drinking her morning coffee, making dolls for all the family girls, crocheting, craft projects, decorating. The Lacona Community meant so much to Viz and Pat, and as their family witnessing this, it is just so heartwarming, and the community of Lacona will always hold a special place in the hearts of all O'Neal family members. After Pat passed away in December the outpouring of love, support and offering up of help was overwhelming. The Lacona community came together helping Viz during Pat's long illness in any and every way they could. The respect and love the community gave to Pat and Viz was unfathomable for this day and age. They had many many extended honorary family members, if you were a good friend you were family. Viz and Pat were not just known by everyone in the Lacona community they were Loved by everyone. They went together like Vodka and water, she was the Pickle to his Peanut Butter and Pickle sandwich, just as he was the baked potato to her Steak and Potato dinner. Viz and Pat were not only husband and wife and business partners they were also inseparable and seldom seen, one without the other. Viz and Pat worked in unison their entire married life. In 1998 Viz and Pat laid claim to their forever home in Lacona IA and purchased the local bar, affectionately naming it O'Neal's Bar and Grille, where everyone knew your name. Once, again they ventured out on their own and started up a business together, named PAO Ltd. She and Pat then began working for JL Miller, a company owned by Pat's brother Paul. In 1990 they moved back to Iowa to be closer to family. In 1987, together they ventured out on their own and opened a business known as Craft Master Interiors, she did the white collar office work, while Pat did the blue collar work. She and Pat moved to Colorado in 1983 for Pat's job. Viz began her career as a beautician after graduating from Cosmetology School and continued her career working in several salons and at times and on her own. She was united in marriage to the love of her life and best friend Patrick Alan O'Neal on February 16,1985 and to that union inherited three step children Paul (Gail) O'Neal, Julie (Jeff) Ries, and Patrick (Carmen) O'Neal. After graduating she went on to Cosmetology School to become a beautician. She Graduated from Clark County Rural One High School in 1966. Viz was the daughter of Joyce and Robert Miller born on Apin Keokuk, IA. Memorials in Viz's honor will be designated at a later date. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Sunday, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona. A Celebration of Life for Vizinia 'Viz' O'Neal, 69, of Lacona will be held Sunday, Januat 2:00 p.m.
